Power in Nigeria is a major challenge; generation, transmission, and distribution. The current distribution network covers principally the older cities and urban areas.

The rural electricity board which used to cater for rural areas has become extinct thereby necessitating the extension of the National grid into these areas to among other things steam rural-urban migration and its attendant problems.

The telecommunications industry has done much better in reaching out to the rural areas but there is still room for improvement. We can design the civil and structural engineering aspect of the transmission lines required to reach remote/rural areas as we have demonstrated in the telecoms industry in Nigeria and overseas.
